How does the analysis work?

Your iPhone runs a custom bat-tracking model and true 3D body pose on every analyzed clip — that's where the bat speed, exit velocity, hip rotation, separation, and stride measurements come from (real geometry, not estimates). Those measurements plus the video go to our coaching AI, which returns a 0–100 score, honest verdicts on each metric, strengths and improvements with frame timestamps, and 3–5 drill recommendations picked from your weakest areas. Usually takes 10–20 seconds end-to-end.

How accurate are the numbers?

Bat speed and exit velocity are calibrated against the bat's known length and corrected for slow-motion capture, so readings are typically within a few mph of professional tools when the swing is shot from the side. Off-angle camera placements underestimate.

Pose-based metrics (hip rotation, separation, stride) use iPhone's built-in 3D pose system, so they're foreshortening-free and consistent across camera angles. They're better than human eyeballing for rotation values, not as good as a human coach for subtle timing.

AI coaching is good for the obvious stuff and the prioritization. Treat it as a second opinion — not gospel.

How do I get the most accurate readings?

Set your bat length in Profile → Bat Length — every inch off skews bat speed by ~3%.
Shoot from the side (open or glove side of the hitter), not behind the plate.
The app auto-captures at 240fps slow-motion when you record in-app — keep it that way for the best frame density.
Tag Swing Start / Foot Down / Contact when prompted; phase tags unlock the pro-level metrics.

What's the analysis limit?

Free: 3 analyses total — every feature unlocked. Once you've used them, upgrade to keep going.
Premium: 50 analyses per rolling 30 days, full progress history, full drill library.

Premium's 30-day window rolls forward automatically. We're working on a "buy more" overflow option for the rare case you exceed 50 in a month.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Cancellation goes through Apple, not us:

iOS: Settings → [Your Apple ID] → Subscriptions → DiamondForge → Cancel

How do I delete my account?

Profile → Delete Account in the app. Or email us support@diamondforge.app and we'll handle it within 24 hours. All your data is deleted within 30 days.

When is Android coming?

On the roadmap. iPhone gets first because we lean heavily on iPhone's built-in 3D body pose system, which doesn't have an exact Android equivalent. Once we have the cross-platform pose layer working, Android ships.

I'm a coach. Can I get team accounts?

Not yet. We're player-first for now. If you're running a club or program and want to bulk-license, email us — we'd love to talk.

The video upload failed.

Most common causes:

No internet — try on Wi-Fi.
Video is over 20 seconds — we cap clips at 20s.
Storage permission denied — go to Settings and grant the app access.

If none of those: send us the error message and approximate time so we can check our logs.

The bat speed reading looks off.

Three things to check, in order:

Did you set the bat length? Profile → Bat Length. Default is 30" — wrong for younger players.
Was the swing tagged? Phase markers (Swing Start / Foot Down / Contact) let us detect slow-motion correctly. Without them, slow-mo readings under-report.
Camera angle? Side-on gives the best reading. Behind the plate or in front of the hitter under-reports because the bat moves toward/away from the camera.
